Committee decides to send elections funds issue to NA

The National Assembly’s standing committee on finance decided on Monday to move the issue of releasing Rs21bn for Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections in the lower house. During the consultative meeting of the body presided over by Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh in which Prime Minister of Law Nazir Tarar and Commerce Minister Naveed Qamar, Minister of State for Finance, Revenue Dr Aisha Ghaus Pasha and deputy Governor State Bank also participated in the huddle. سینٹ انتخابات سے متعلق صدارتی آرڈیننس سپریم کورٹ میں چیلنج

جمعیت علمائے اسلام (ف) نے ملک میں سینیٹ انتخابات سے متعلق صدارتی آرڈیننس 2021 کو سپریم کورٹ میں چیلنج کر دیا۔ صدارتی آرڈیننس کے خلاف درخواست ایڈووکیٹ جہانگیر جدون نے دائر کی جس میں مؤقف اپنایا گیا کہ عدالت عظمیٰ صدارتی آرڈیننس جاری کرنے کا نوٹس لے کیونکہ اس کے ذریعے سپریم کورٹ اور پارلیمنٹ کی خود مختاری کو سبوتاژ کیا گیا۔ درخواست میں کہا گیا ہے کہ صدارتی آرڈیننس کو حکومتی بدنیتی قرار دے کر کالعدم قرار دیے جانے سمیت غیر معقول اور خلاف آئین قرار دیا جائے واضح رہے کہ صدر مملکت ڈاکٹر عارف علوی نے ہفتہ 6 فروری کو سینیٹ انتخابات اوپن بیلٹ سے کرانے کے لیے صدارتی آرڈیننس پر دستخط کیے تھے۔ صدارتی آرڈیننس میں الیکشن ایکٹ 2017ء کی شق 122 میں ترمیم کی گئی ہے جبکہ آرڈیننس کو آئین کی شق 186 کے تحت سپریم کورٹ کی رائے سے مشروط کیا گیا ہے۔
